28COMPANDERIf programmed by your dealer for a channel, the companderwill remove excessive noise from transmitted signals, toprovide higher clarity of signals.Note: The COMPANDER is used only in analog operation.BUSY CHANNEL L OCKOUT (BCL)On Conventional channels, if BCL is set up by your dealer, youwill be unable to transmit if the channel is already in use. Usea different channel or wait until the channel becomes free.If BCL Override has been programmed, you can transmit overthe current signal:1 Press and hold the PTT switch.• If the channel is already in use, a warning tone will sound.2 Quickly release and then press the PTT switch again.3 Speak into the transceiver as you would during a normalcall.CONTROL CHANNEL HUNTOn digital Trunking channels, the transceiver automaticallysearches for a control channel.• While searching for a control channel, the antenna icon will flashand no signals can be received.PTT IDPTT ID is the transceiver unique ID code which is sent eachtime the PTT switch is pressed and/or released.Note: PTT ID can be made only in analog operation.
