Keysight 85056D and 85563A/85564A User’s and Service Guide 3-13Use, Maintenance, and Care of the DevicesMaking ConnectionsFinal Connection Using a Torque WrenchUse a torque wrench to make a final connection. Table 3-1 providesinformation about the torque wrench recommended for use with the calibrationkit. A torque wrench is included in the calibration kit. Refer to Table 6-1 onpage 6-1 for replacement part number and ordering information.Using a torque wrench guarantees that the connection is not too tight, preventing possible connector damage. It also guarantees that all connectionsare equally tight each time.Prevent the rotation of anything other than the connector nut that you aretightening. It may be possible to do this by hand if one of the connectors isfixed (as on a test port). However, it is recommended that you use an open-endwrench to keep the body of the device from turning.1. Position both wrenches within 90 degrees of each other before applyingforce. See Figure 3-3. Wrenches opposing each other (greater than 90degrees apart) will cause a lifting action which can misalign and stress theconnections of the devices involved. This is especially true when severaldevices are connected together.Figure 3-3 Wrench Positions2. Hold the torque wrench lightly, at the end of the handle only (beyond thegroove).
