DESIGN AND OPERATING PRINCIPLEThe PTL-F; PTL-S; PTL-P of the tractor semitrailer are metal-structure machines with a body tippingbackwards. The PTL-V of the tractor semitrailers are metal-structure machines with a glass fiber or steel tankattached on a frame, together with centrifugal or vacuum-rotary pumps. The PTL-T of tractor trailers are metal-structure machines with a body tipping backwards. The PTL-R of the tractor semitrailer are metal-structuremachines with a flat platform for carrying load on top of the platform. The PTL-G of the tractor semitrailersare metal-structure machines with a box body for loading livestock, specifically PTL-G chassis are hydraulicallycontrolled for lifting chassis up and down.The chassis of the semi-trailer has working pneumatic brakes with braking force regulators for each axle,depending on the weight of the load being carried. The parking brake is controlled manually using a screw andacts through the friction elements of the working brake of the front axle. The tractor semi-trailers are equippedwith warning signalling lights and may be used when driving by public roads.The tractor semi-trailers are manufactured in accordance with Directive 98/37/EC and the followingnormalisation provisions: LST-EN 1853:200.4.1. FrameThe frame consists of a thick-walled rectangular profile metal pipe welded structure, which hasmounting places for the drawbar, chassis, body, and other necessary assemblies. Ordered additionally in therear of a frame a hitch can be installed for pulling second semitrailer or trailer.4.2. ChassisSpring chassis consists of three-leave semi-elliptical (parabolic) spring blocks, to which three axles aremounted whose hubs have wheel mounting bolts and drum braking mechanisms with spreading brake shoes.Each axle has two tie-rods, one of which is adjustable. The axles are aligned by adjusting the screw tie-rods.The chassis is secured by inserting the spring blocks into the axle adjustment tie-rods and respective places atthe frame.The rear axle hubs of the tandem chassis (front and rear axles of tridem chassis) can turn through thealignment mechanism.
