36Installation and connection instructions1 Safety information concerninginstallation• This washing machine cannot be built-in.• Before using for the first time, check the appliance for damage sus-tained while it was being transported. Do not under any circumstanc-es connect an appliance that is damaged to the mains. In the event ofdamage to the appliance contact your supplier.• Be sure to remove all the components of the transport lock before us-ing the appliance for the first time. Otherwise when spinning damagemay be caused to the appliance or to neighbouring units or furniture.• Before using the appliance for the first time, splash protection mustbe completed. (See “Removing transit packaging”).• Always plug the mains plug into a correctly installed shockproofsocket.• Prior to using the appliance for the first time, ensure that the ratedvoltage and current on the rating plate match the mains voltage andcurrent where the appliance is to be installed. The required fuse pro-tection is also to be found on the rating plate.• If work on the plumbing is required for the proper connection of thewashing machine to the water supply, this must be undertaken by acompetent person.• If work on the electricity supply system is required for the properconnection of the washing machine to the electricity supply, thismust be undertaken by a registered electrician.• Should the appliance power supply cable need to be replaced, thismust be carried out by our Service Force Centre.• The power supply cable must be easily accessible after installing theappliance.• Connect the machine to an earthed socket.
