Advanced OptionsThis menu allows you to set up advanced calibrationoptions used for special purposes (Fig. 5.4.A.).Figure 5.4.A.5.4.1. Blackpoint Adjustment Setting■You may elect to increase the luminance of the colorblack. This can be useful to obtain a realistic renderingof your document in situations where you know that thepaper and inks used when ultimately printing it may notallow a full black. To increase the luminance of black, adjust the black-point slider to your desired value. This setting will beautomatically taken into consideration when calibratingyour monitor.5.4.2. Chromatic Adaptation Setting■Some constraints in your color chain may force youto use a monitor White Point other than D50 (5000°Kelvin) while still targeting D50 paper prints. In thissituation, you may perceive a difference between dis-played colors and printed colors, due to the ChromaticAdaptation behavior of the human brain. Color scien-tists have devised methods to correct this impression. Two of these methods are Bradford and von Kries. When one of these methods is selected, the profilingprocess of LaCie blue eye pro will minimize this im-pression by slightly adjusting the chromaticity of yourmonitor. To activate this feature, please select your chosenchromatic adaptation method by clicking on the cor-responding radio button of the Advanced Options set-tings window.
