Mascot FT, Heating Only, BoilerPage 15SECTION 4.Installation4.1 Location and ClearancesThe Mascot FT must be mounted to a suitable wall bya qualified heating contractor under the guidelines of aboiler. The wall may be of concrete or wood. Suitablefasteners for concrete or wood must be used. Failure towall mount this boiler using correct fasteners will affectthe performance and life expectancy of the boiler andwill void the warranty.Figure 2. The components are below.Water piping position / Venting adapter / Gas supplypiping / Electrical power / Condensate drain hose.• Inspect area around Boiler. Remove any combustiblematerials, gasoline and other flammable liquids.Failure to keep Boiler area clear and free ofcombustible materials, gasoline and other flammableliquids and vapors can result in severe personalinjury, death or substantial property damage.• The Boiler which has gas control systemcomponents must be protected from any possibledanger during operation and service.• If new Boiler replaces an existing appliance, checkand correct system problems, for example:- Do not install if: System leaks causing oxygencorrosion or heat exchanger cracks from hard waterdeposits.Provide clearances• If the heater was installed in a narrow spaceor corner, please ensure that there is sufficientspace for service and maintenance access. Forregular maintenance, gas and water lines must beaccessible.The boiler must be installed on a wall that can bear its weight.WARNINGWARNINGCLEARANCES FOR SERVICE ACCESS• If you do not provide the minimum clearancesshown, it might not be possible to service theboiler without removing it from the space.• Space must be provided with combustion /ventilation air openings correctly sized forall other appliances located in the samespace as the boiler. The boiler cover must besecurely fastened to prevent it from drawingair from the boiler room. This is particularlyimportant if the boiler is in a room with otherappliances.
