Fire SafetyVentilationPage _ 6Important Safety Information• Do not leave frying pansunattended during use becauseoverheated fats or oils might catchfire.• Never leave naked flames underthe cooker hood.• There is a fire risk if cleaning isnot carried out in accordance withthe instructions.• Do not flambé under the cookerhood.• Do not use the cooker hoodwithout the grease filters or if thefilters are excessively greasy!• The minimum distance betweenthe pan supports on the hob andthe lowest part of the cooker hood.(When the cooker hood is locatedabove a gas appliance) shall be aminimum of 650mm.(Coal or oil 750mm)• When in extraction mode, air inthe room is being removed by thecooker hood. Please make surethat proper ventilation measuresare being observed. The cookerhood removes odours from roombut not steam.• The air must not be dischargedinto a flue that is used forexhausting fumes from appliancesburning gas or other fuels.• Make sure the ducting has nobends sharper than 90 degrees asthis will reduce the efficiency of thecooker hood (max duct length 3m,150mm Ø).• Always put lids on pots and panswhen cooking.• Large quantities of vapour andsteam can be produced very quickly.This steam may condense onto thecold metallic surfaces of theextractor (This is not a fault witheither the hob or extractor ifcorrectly installed.) The amount ofthis condensation on any particularsurface will depend on many factorsincluding the general ventilationwithin the kitchen, the type of foodbeing cooked and the duration.• There shall be adequateventilation of the room when thecooker hood is used at the sametime as appliances burning gas orother fuels.
