The two drive speeds are high range(fast speed) and low range (slow speed). Use seedcharts beginning on page 20 to determine which range iscorrect for the seed you are dispersing. Some seedswork with both ranges.High Range Set-upRefer to Figure 3-4:1. Loosen 3/8" flange lock nut(#1) and drive tensionsprocket (#2). Remove drive chain (#3) from speedchange sprocket (#6).2. Remove 5/8" nut (#4) and 5/8" flat washer (#5).3. Pull idler sprocket (#8) away from drivenchain (#7) and remove driven chain.4. Rearrange speed change sprocket (#6) so that thelarger 35 tooth sprocket is behind the smaller 19tooth sprocket as shown.5. Secure sprocket with 5/8" flat washer (#5) and5/8" - 11 nut (#4). Tighten nut to correct torque.6. Drive chain (#3) should be 65 pitches long and drivenchain (#7) 101 pitches long. If drive chain has73 pitches, remove 8 pitches from it and add those8 pitches to the driven chain.7. Replace 101 pitch driven chain (#7) first and then the65 pitch drive chain (#3).8. Make sure idler sprocket (#8) is pressing against thedriven chain.9. Retention drive chain (#3) by pressing down on idlersprocket (#2). When tensioned properly, tighten 3/8"flange lock nut (#1) to maintain that tension.High Range Sprocket Arrangement & Chain PitchesFigure 3-424936No. 40 Chain64 + Offset Link= 65 Chain PitchesNo. 40 Chain92 + 8 + Offset Link= 101 Chain Pitches35T SprocketLocated Behind19T Sprocket3782164 5
