Using Internet Fax Functions743Receiving Internet Fax DocumentsYou can receive e-mail documents byInternet Fax.There are two methods of receiving e-mail: Auto E-mail Reception andManual E-mail Reception.Limitation❒ E-mail with attachments other thanTIFF-F format files cannot be re-ceived. Senders receive an Error MailNotification if their e-mail containsattachments. You can select whetheror not the machine sends this mes-sage with User Parameters. See p.167“User Parameters”, Facsimile Refer-ence (switch21, bit 7). However, TIFF-F docu-ments created by the Saving func-tion of DeskTopBinder ProfessionalLite can be received.❒ If “Require Secure Password Authen-tication (SPA) for all client con-nections” is selected in Windows Server2003, reception is not possible.Note❒ When Reception Protocol is set toPOP3 or IMAP4, you can set themachine to retain incoming e-mailor delete it from the server in “Sys-tem Settings”. See “File Transfer”,Network Guide.❒ With User Parameters, you can havethe machine send the return re-ceipt in response to the receptionnotice request attached to the sente-mail. See p.167 “User Parame-ters”, Facsimile Reference Features> (switch 21, bit 1).Auto E-mail ReceptionWhen this function is turned on, themachine periodically checks the e-mail server for incoming e-mail anddownloads it as necessary.E-mail auto-reception should be set in“System Settings”. When you selectauto-reception, set the reception in-terval in minutes.See “File Transfer”, Network Guide.Note❒ If memory runs out, e-mail will notbe received at the specified inter-vals. Reception will resume whensufficient memory becomes avail-able.
