13OPERATIONMP3 OPERATION• SWITCHING TO CD (MP3) MODEIf there is no MP3 disc inserted in thedriver:When the front panel is in State 3,press button (4), the front panel willslide down to State 2 and then gentlyinsert the CD with the printed sideuppermost into the CD compartmentuntil you feel some resistance. The CDis drawn into the drive automatically.And then the front panel will slide upto State automatically. CD playbackbegins. (For details, please see“Using the front panel”).If a MP3 disc is already inserted in thedriver:Keep pressing MODE button (6)shortly until the CD (MP3) modedisplay appears.• EJECTING A DISCWhen there is a disc in and the frontpanel is in State 3, press button (4),the panel will slide down to State 2and eject the disc from the disc slot.• SELECTING TRACKS IN SINGLESTEPPress TUNE/TRACK button (16) orTUNE/TRACK button (17) to moveto the previous track or the followingtrack. Track number shows on display.• SELECTING DIRECTORY UP/DOWNPress M5 button (23) or M6 button(24) to select directory downward orupward. If the MP3 disc does containany directory, there is no function ofpressing M5 button (23) or M6 button(24).• PAUSING PLAYINGPress PAU button (19) to pause MP3player. Press it again to resume play.• PREVIEWING ALL TRACKSPress SCN button (20) to play firstseveral seconds of each track on thecurrent disc. Press again to stop introand listen to track.• REPEATING THE SAME TRACKPress RPT button (21) to continuouslyrepeat the same track. Press it againto stop repeat.• PLAYING ALL TRACKS IN RANDOMPress SHF button (22) to play alltracks on MP3 disc in random order.Press again to cancel the function.• SELECTING TRACKS BY AMS/MP3BUTTONAMS button is assigned as DigitalAudio Mode selection button in MP3operation.When pressed, it is activated asselecting each mode of Digital Audio.“Searching track directly” =>“Searching Directory or File Name”=>“Navigation” from root byTUNE/TRACK UP/DOWN buttons=>“Navigation” from current directory byTUNE/TRACK UP/DOWN buttons.Searching Track DirectlyPress AMS (MP3) button for onetime. It enters into “Searching trackdirectly” in Digital Audio CD.The unit searches the track selectedby following direct numeric buttons:M1-M6, MODE (7), TUNE/TRACKDOWN (8), TUNE/TRACK UP (9),DSP(0).If selected three digits, the unitsearches the tract at once. If selectedone or two digits, the unit wait forENTER (BND/LOU) button forseconds. The unit searches the trackafter few seconds, even if the enterbutton is not pressed.Searching Directory or File NamePress AMS (MP3) button for twotimes.
