READ AND FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS2. WarningTo reduce the risk of injury, do not permit children to use this product unlessthey are closely supervised at all times.3. A wire connector is provided on this unit to connect a minimum No. 8AWG(8.4mm 2 ) solid copper conductor between this unit and any metalequipment, metal enclosures of electrical equipment, metal water pipe, orconduit within 5 feet (1.5m) of the unit.4. Danger Risk of Injury(For cord and plug connected units)A. Replace damaged cord immediatelyB. Do not bury cordC. Connect to a grounded, grounding type receptacle only.4A. (For units with a G.F.C.I.)WARNING - This product is provided with a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter“G.F.C.I.” on the end of the spa’s power cord. This G.F.C.I. must be testedbefore each use. With the product operating depress the “test” button onthe G.F.C.I. The spa should not operate. Depress the “Reset” button onthe G.F.C.I. The product should now operate normally. If the spa fails tooperate in this manner, there is a ground current flowing indicating a possibleelectric shock. Disconnect the power until the fault has been identified andcorrected by a certified licensed electrician.5. WarningFOR PERMANENTLY INSTALLED UNITS - The electrical supply for thisproduct must include a suitably rated switch or circuit breaker to open allungrounded supply conductors to comply with Section 442-20 of theNational Electric Code. ANSI / NFPA 70-1987. In addition, all 230 voltinstallations must be protected by a 230 volt Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter"G.F.C.I.". Any G.F.C.I. circuit breaker used in the house panel must readcurrent returning through the neutral conductor. 230 volt 2 conductor G.F.C.I.circuit breakers will not operate correctly for your application.6. DangerRisk of Accidental Drowning. Extreme caution must be exercised to preventunauthorized access by children. To avoid accidents, ensure that childrencannot use this spa unless they are supervised at all times. For additionalprotection, select a cover which is classified by the UnderwritersLaboratories Meeting ASTM F1346-91 requirements.7. DangerRisk of Injury. The suction fittings in this spa are sized to match the specificwater flow created by the pump. Should the need arise to replace the suctionfittings or the pump, be sure that the flow rates are compatible.Never operate spa if suction fittings are broken or missing. Never replacea suction fitting with one less than the flow rate marked on the originalsuction fitting.8. DangerRisk of Electric Shock. Install at least 5 feet (1.5m) from all metal surfaces.As an alternative, a spa may be installed within 5 feet (1.5m) of metalsurfaces if each metal surface is permanently connected by a minimumNo. 8AWG (8.4mm) solid copper conductor to the wire connector on theterminal box that is provided for this purpose.9. DangerRisk of Electric Shock. Do not permit any electric appliance, such as light,telephone, radio, or television, within 5 feet (1.5m) of a spa.10. Warning To reduce risk of injury:A. The water in a spa should never exceed 104°F (40°C). Watertemperatures between 100°F (38°C) and 104°F (40°C) are consideredsafe for a healthy adult. Lower water temperatures are recommendedfor your children and when spa use exceeds 10 minutes.B. Since excessive water temperatures have high potential for fetal damageduring the early months of pregnancy, pregnant or possibly pregnantwomen should limit spa water temperatures to 100°F (38°C).C. Before entering spa, the user should measure the water temperaturewith an accurate thermometer since the tolerance of water temperature-regulating devices vary.D. The use of alcohol, drugs, or medication before or during spa use maylead to unconsciousness with the possibility of drowning.E. Persons suffering from obesity or with a medical history of heart disease,low or high blood pressure, circulatory system problems, or diabetesshould consult a physician before using a spa.F. Persons using medication should consult a physician before using aspa since some medication may induce drowsiness while othermedication may affect heart rate, blood pressure, and circulation.11. Warning SignIncluded with this spa is a warning sign. It is extremely important that thissign be permanently placed in clear view of any persons using the spa.Occasional spa users may not be aware of some of the dangers hot waterposes to pregnant women, small children, and people under the influenceof alcohol, drugs or medication.
