-19-! Maintain a firm grip with both hands on the sawand position your arms to resist kickback forces.Position your body to either side of the blade, but not in line with the blade.! When blade is binding, or when interrupting acut for any reason, release the trigger and holdthe saw motionless in the material until theblade comes to a complete stop. Never attemptto remove the saw from the work or pull the sawbackward while the blade is in motion or kick-back may occur.! When restarting a saw in the workpiece, centrethe saw blade in the kerf and check that sawteeth are not engaged into the material.! Support large panels to minimise the risk ofblade pinching and kickback.! Do not use dull or damaged blades.! Blade depth and bevel adjusting locking leversmust be tight and secure before making cut.! Use extra caution when making a „plunge cut“into existing walls or other blind areas.! Check lower guard for proper closing beforeeach use. Do not operate the saw if lower guarddoes not move freely and close instantly. Neverclamp or tie the lower guard into the open posi-tion.! Check the operation of the lower guard spring. Ifthe guard and the spring are not operating prop-erly, they must be serviced before use.! Lower guard should be retracted manually onlyfor special cuts such as „plunge cuts“ and „com-pound cuts“. Raise lower guard by retractinghandle and as soon as blade enters the mate-rial, the lower guard must be released.! Always observe that the lower guard is coveringthe blade before placing saw down on bench orfloor.! Use the appropriate riving knife for the bladebeing used.! Adjust the riving knife as described in thisinstruction manual.! Always use the riving knife except when plungecutting.! For the riving knife to work, it must be engagedin the workpiece.! Do not operate the saw if riving knife is bent.! Examine the workpiece for foreign objects.Never attempt to cut nails or other metalobjects.Instructions on service and maintenance:! Regular cleaning of the machine, especially theadjusting devices for the base plate and guide-ways, is an important safety factor.! Only original MAFELL spare parts and acces-sories must be used. Otherwise the manufac-turer does not offer any warranty and does notaccept any liability.3 Setting up / Adjusting3.1 Mains connectionThe portable circular saw KSP 65 F has Class II pro-tective insulation (double-insulated).Before starting up, make sure that the mains voltagematches the voltage stated on the rating plate.3.2 Chip extractionWhen cutting wood for a long period and when usingthe machine industrially and with materials that gen-erate dust which represents a health hazard, themachine must be connected to a suitable dustextractor unit. The inside diameter of the attachablehose connector 3 (Fig. 1) is 35 mm (1 3/8 in.).3.3 Change of saw bladeMake sure that the saw blade being mounted isproperly sharpened since this is the basic require-ment for perfect cuts.Proceed as follows to change the saw blade:• Press locking bolt first 8 (Fig. 2) in order to lockthe saw blade. In Germany, extractors tested for theextraction of wood dust are specified.Safe compliance with air pollution limits(2 mg/m3) is ensured only if the machineis connected to a tested extractor unit(such as an industrial vacuum cleaner ora combination unit).Always pull out the mains plugbefore changing the saw blade.Do not fit saw blades that arecracked or otherwise damaged.Use only saw blades with a diame-ter of 180 mm (7 5/64 in.) to 190mm (7 31/64 in.) and a bore diame-ter of 30 mm.Do not use HSS saw blades.
