MP2800 Series Router Installation Manual Version 1.0Main Control Board CableConnectionThis section describes the method of connecting MP2800 control boardcables to the network, including connecting router console port.Console Port ConnectionMP2800 router provides one EIA/TIA-232 async serial console port. Theuser configures the router via the port by adopting RS-232 serial characterterminal (normally a PC).For the detailed connection and configuration, refer to the later chapter.Configure the router via the terminal as follows: Step 1: Find a character terminal – a standard terminal with RS-232serial or normal PC. The latter is more common. Step 2: Ensure that router or terminal is out of power supply andconnect RS-232 serial and console port with cables.During the connection, make sure about the ID on the interface to avoidinserting to other interfaces.Grounding Wire ConnectionThe normal connection of MP2800 ground wire is the first guarantee ofanti-thunder and anti-interference of the router. It is required that usersmust connect the ground wires correctly.AC noise filter is connected to the AC input end of router power supply, whose center is connected with chassis. The chassis ground (that isprotect ground) must be connected to the ground, so as to make inductionelectricity and leaked electricity flow to the earth and improve the featureof anti electromagnetic interference.Maipu Confidential & Proprietary Information Page 44 of 55
