MP2800 Series Router Installation Manual Version 1.0Module Interface Cable ConnectionModule Cable ConnectionThis section describes the notes of 1SAE module and cable connection.Before connecting sync/async serial, ensure the following two points: The equipment type connecting sync/async serial, which is sync/asyncor DTE/DCE Access equipment requires signal standard, baud rate and sync clock.DTE and DCE:Sync/async serial port accesses external Modem or TA (terminal adapter)as dialup interface. Sync serial port has two modes - DTE and DCE. Thetwo direct connected devices work in DTE and DCE respectively.The device at the DCE side provides the synchronization clock andspecifies the communication rate, while DTE device receives thesynchronization clock and communicate according to the specified baudrate.The router usually serves as DTE. For the type of the device connected tothe router, refer to the manual of the device.
