MAINTENANCECAUTION:Always be sure that the tool is switched off and unplugged before attempting to performinspection or maintenance.Replacing carbon brushesRemove and check the carbon brushesregularly. Replace when they wear down tothe limit mark. Keep the carbon brushesclean and free to slip in the holders. Bothcarbon brushes should be replaced at thesame time. Use only identical carbonbrushes.Release the lock lever and remove the knobby turning it counterclockwise. The compression spring will come out of the knob,so be careful not to lose the compressionspring.Limit markUse a screwdriver to remove the brush Brush holder capholder caps. Take out the worn carbonbrushes, insert the new ones and secure the Screwdriverbrush holder caps.Put the compression spring on the nut and install the knob by turning clockwise, whilepressing it down.To maintain product SAFETY and RELIABILITY, repairs, any other maintenance oradjustment should be performed by Makita Authorized or Factory Service Centers,always using Makita replacement parts.11
