Hold tool by insulated gripping surfaces whenperforming an operation where the cutting toolmay contact hidden wiring or its own cord. Con-tact with a ‘‘live’’ wire will make exposed metalparts of the tool ‘‘live’’ and shock the operator.2. Wear hearing protection during extended periodof operation.3. Handle the bits very carefully.4. Check the bit carefully for cracks or damagebefore operation. Replace cracked or damaged bitimmediately.5. Avoid cutting nails. Inspect for and remove allnails from the workpiece before operation.6. Hold the tool firmly with both hands.7. Keep hands away from rotating parts.8. Make sure the bit is not contacting the workpiecebefore the switch is turned on.9. Before using the tool on an actual workpiece, let itrun for a while. Watch for vibration or wobblingthat could indicate improperly installed bit.10. Be careful of the bit rotating direction and thefeed direction.11. Do not leave the tool running. Operate the toolonly when hand-held.12. Always switch off and wait for the bit to come to acomplete stop before removing the tool fromworkpiece.13. Do not touch the bit immediately after operation;it may be extremely hot and could burn your skin.14. Always lead the power supply cord away from thetool towards the rear.15. Do not smear the tool base carelessly with thinner,gasoline, oil or the like.They may cause cracks in the tool base.16. Draw attention to the need to use cutters of thecorrect shank diameter and which are suitable forthe speed of the tool.SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.OPERATING INSTRUCTIONSInstalling or removing router bit (Fig. 1)Important:Always be sure that the tool is switched off and unpluggedbefore installing or removing the bit.Insert the bit all the way into the collet cone and tightenthe collet nut securely with the two wrenches.A 6 mm or 1/4’’ collet cone is also provided as standardequipment besides the 8 mm or 3/8’’ collet cone that isfactory installed on the tool. Use the correct size colletcone for the bit which you intend to use.To remove the bit, follow the installation procedure inreverse.CAUTION:Do not tighten the collet nut without inserting a bit, or thecollet cone will break.Adjusting the depth of cut (Fig. 2, 3 & 4)Place the tool on a flat surface. Loosen the screwsecuring the stopper pole.Loosen the lock lever and lower the tool body until the bitjust touches the flat surface. Tighten the lock lever to lockthe tool body.Next, lower the stopper pole until it makes contact withthe adjusting hex bolt. Align the depth pointer with the ‘‘0’’graduation.Raise the stopper pole until the desired depth of cut isobtained. The depth of cut is indicated on the scale (1 mmor 1/16’’ per graduation) by the depth pointer. Thentighten the screw to secure the stopper pole.Now, your predetermined depth of cut can be obtained byloosening the lock lever and then lowering the tool bodyuntil the stopper pole makes contact with the adjustinghex bolt.6 |
