8Loading nailerSelect nails suitable for your work. Depress the latchlever and open the door and magazine cap.Fig.7Lift and turn the coil support plate to set it to the correctstep. When loading 90 mm long nails, use the bottomstep. When loading 65 or 75 mm long nails, use themiddle step. When loading 45 or 50 or 57 mm long nails, use the top step. If the tool is operated with the coilsupport plate set to the wrong step, poor nail feed ormalfunction of the tool may result.Fig.8Place the nail coil over the coil support plate. Uncoilenough nails to reach the feed claw. Place the first nail inthe driver channel and the second nail in the feed claw. The nail heads must be in the slot in the feeder body.Place other uncoiled nails on feeder body. Close themagazine cap and door after checking to see that the nailcoil is set properly in the magazine.Fig.9Connecting air hoseLock the trigger. Slip the air socket of the air hose ontothe air fitting on the nailer. Be sure that the air socketlocks firmly into position when installed onto the air fitting.A hose coupling must be installed on or near the tool insuch a way that the pressure reservoir will discharge atthe time the air supply coupling is disconnected.Fig.10OPERATIONCAUTION:• Make sure all safety systems are in working orderbefore operation.Fig.11Fig.121. To drive a nail, you may place the contact elementagainst the workpiece and pull the trigger, or2. Pull the trigger first and then place the contactelement against the workpiece.No. 1 method is for intermittent nailing, when you wish todrive a nail carefully and very accurately.No. 2 method is for continuous nailing.CAUTION:• However when the tool is set to the "IntermittentNailing" mode, WITH THE TRIGGER HELD IN AHALF-PULLED POSITION, an unexpected nailingcould occur, if contact element is allowed tore-contact against the workpiece or the othersurface under the influence of recoil. In order to avoid this unexpected nailing, performas follows;A. Do not place the contact element against theworkpiece with excessive force.B. Pull the trigger fully and hold it on for 1-2 secondsafter nailing. For No. 1 method, set the change lever to the"Intermittent Nailing" position. For No. 2 method, set thechange lever to the "Continuous Nailing" position. Afterusing the change lever to change the nailing method, always make sure that the change lever is properly set tothe position for the desired nailing method.Fig.13CAUTION:• Operating the tool without nails shortens the life ofthe tool and should be avoided.Air exhaustAir exhaust direction can be changed easily by rotaitingthe exhaust cover. Change it when necessary.Jammed nailerFig.14CAUTION:• Always lock the trigger, disconnect the hose andremove the nails from the magazine beforecleaning a jam. When the nailer becomes jammed, do as follows:Open the door and magazine cap and remove the nailcoil. Insert a small rod or the like into the ejection port andtap it with a hammer to drive out the nail jamming fromthe ejection port. Reset the nail coil and close themagazine cap and door.HookFig.15Fig.16The hook is convenient for hanging the tool temporarily. This hook can be installed on either side of the tool.CAUTION:• Always lock the trigger and disconnect the hosewhen hanging the tool using the hook.• Always tighten the hook securing bolt firmly. Loosebolt may cause air leakage from the tool.• Never hang the tool on a waist belt or like.Dangerous accidental firing may result.NailsNail004310Handle nail coils and their box carefully. If the nail coilshave been handled roughly, they may be out of shape ortheir connector breaks, causing poor nail feed.
