Before using battery cartridge, read allinstructions and cautionary markings on (1)battery charger, (2) battery, and (3) product usingbattery.2. Do not disassemble battery cartridge.3. If operating time has become excessively shorter,stop operating immediately. It may result in a riskof overheating, possible burns and even anexplosion.4. If electrolyte gets into your eyes, rinse them outwith clear water and seek medical attention rightaway. It may result in loss of your eyesight.5. Do not short the battery cartridge:(1) Do not touch the terminals with anyconductive material.(2) Avoid storing battery cartridge in a containerwith other metal objects such as nails, coins,etc.(3) Do not expose battery cartridge to water orrain.A battery short can cause a large current flow,overheating, possible burns and even abreakdown.6. Do not store the tool and battery cartridge inlocations where the temperature may reach orexceed 50°C (122°F).7. Do not incinerate the battery cartridge even if it isseverely damaged or is completely worn out. Thebattery cartridge can explode in a fire.8. Be careful not to drop or strike battery.9. Do not use a damaged battery.SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.Tips for maintaining maximum battery life1. Charge the battery cartridge before completelydischarged.Always stop tool operation and charge the batterycartridge when you notice less tool power.2. Never recharge a fully charged battery cartridge.Overcharging shortens the battery service life.3. Charge the battery cartridge with roomtemperature at 10°C - 40°C (50°F - 104°F). Let a hotbattery cartridge cool down before charging it.4. Charge the battery cartridge once in every sixmonths if you do not use it for a long period oftime.FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTIONCAUTION:• Always be sure that the tool is switched off and thebattery cartridge is removed before adjusting orchecking function on the tool.Installing or removing the batterycartridge (Fig. 1)• Always switch off the tool before installing or removingof the battery cartridge.• To remove the battery cartridge, slide it from the toolwhile sliding the button on the front of the cartridge.• To install the battery cartridge, align the tongue on thebattery cartridge with the groove in the housing and slipit into place. Always insert it all the way until it locks inplace with a little click. If you can see the red indicatoron the upper side of the button, it is not lockedcompletely. Install it fully until the red indicator cannotbe seen. If not, it may accidentally fall out of the tool,causing injury to you or someone around you.• Do not use force when installing the battery cartridge. Ifthe cartridge does not slide in easily, it is not beinginserted correctly.Battery protection system (Batterycartridge with a star mark) (Fig. 2)The battery cartridge with a star mark is equipped with theprotection system, which automatically cuts off the outputpower for its long service life.The tool stops during operation when the tool and/orbattery are placed under the following situation. This iscaused by the activation of protection system and doesnot show the tool trouble.• When the tool is overloaded:At this time, release the switch trigger, remove thebattery cartridge and remove causes of overload andthen pull the switch trigger again to restart.• When battery cells get hot:If any operation of the switch trigger, the motor willremain stopped. At this time, stop use of the tool andcool or charge the battery cartridge after removing itfrom the tool.• When the remaining battery capacity gets low:If any operation of the switch trigger, the motor willremain stopped. At this time, remove the batterycartridge from the tool and charge it.Switch action (Fig. 3)CAUTION:• Before inserting the battery cartridge into the tool,always check to see that the switch trigger actuatesproperly and returns to the “OFF” position whenreleased.To start the tool, simply pull the switch trigger. Tool speedis increased by increasing pressure on the switch trigger.Release the switch trigger to stop.Lighting up the front lamp (Fig. 4)CAUTION:• Do not look in the light or see the source of lightdirectly.
