Charge the battery cartridge before completelydischarged.Always stop tool operation and charge the batterycartridge when you notice less tool power.2. Never recharge a fully charged battery cartridge.Overcharging shortens the battery service life.3. Charge the battery cartridge with roomtemperature at 10°C - 40°C (50°F - 104°F). Let a hotbattery cartridge cool down before charging it.4. Charge the battery cartridge once in every sixmonths if you do not use it for a long period oftime.FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTIONCAUTION:• Always be sure that the tool is switched off and thebattery cartridge is removed before adjusting orchecking function on the tool.Installing or removing battery cartridge(Fig. 8)• Always switch off the tool before installing or removingof the battery cartridge.• To remove the battery cartridge, slide it from the toolwhile sliding the button on the front of the cartridge.• To install the battery cartridge, align the tongue on thebattery cartridge with the groove in the housing and slipit into place. Ifthe cartridge does not slide in easily, it is not beinginserted correctly.Battery protection system (Lithium-ionbattery with star marking) (Fig. 9)Lithium-ion batteries with a star marking are equippedwith a protection system. This system automatically cutsoff power to the tool to extend battery life. The tool will automatically stop during operation if the tooland/or battery are placed under one of the followingconditions:• Overloaded:The tool is operated in a manner that causes it todraw an abnormally high current. In this situation, release the trigger switch on the tooland stop the application that caused the tool tobecome overloaded. Then pull the trigger switchagain to restart. If the tool does not start, the battery is overheated. Inthis situation, let the battery cool before pulling thetrigger switch again.• Low battery voltage:The remaining battery capacity is too low and the toolwill not operate. In this situation, remove andrecharge the battery.Adjusting depth of cut (Fig. 10)CAUTION:• After adjusting the depth of cut, always tighten the leversecurely.Loosen the lever on the side of the rear handle and movethe base up or down. At the desired depth of cut, securethe base by tightening the lever. For cleaner, safer cuts, set cut depth so that no more thanone blade tooth projects below workpiece. Using propercut depth helps to reduce potential for dangerouskickback which can cause personal injury.
