102. Never recharge a fully charged batterycartridge.Overcharging shortens the battery service life.3. Charge the battery cartridge with roomtemperature at 10 ﾟ C - 40 ﾟ C (50 ﾟ F - 104 ﾟ F).Let a hot battery cartridge cool down beforecharging it.4. Charge the battery cartridge once in every sixmonths if you do not use it for a long period oftime.INSTALLATIONBench mountingFig.1When the tool is shipped, the handle is locked in thelowered position by the stopper pin. Release the stopperpin by simultaneously applying a slight downwardpressure on the handle and pulling the stopper pin.WARNING:• Ensure that the tool will not move on thesupporting surface. Movement of the miter sawon the supporting surface while cutting may resultin loss of control and serious personal injury.Fig.2This tool should be bolted with two bolts to a level andstable surface using the bolt holes provided in the tool'sbase. This will help prevent tipping and possible injury.Fig.3Turn the adjusting bolt clockwise or counterclockwise sothat it comes into a contact with the floor surface to keepthe tool stable.FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTIONWARNING:• Always be sure that the tool is switched off andthe battery cartridge is removed beforeadjusting or checking the functions on the tool.Failure to switch off and remove the batterycartridge may result in serious personal injury fromaccidental start-up.Installing or removing battery cartridgeFig.4• Always switch off the tool before insertion orremoval of the battery cartridge.• To remove the battery cartridge, withdraw it fromthe tool while sliding the button on the front of thecartridge.• To insert the battery cartridge, align the tongue onthe battery cartridge with the groove in the housingand slip it into place. Always insert it all the wayuntil it locks in place with a little click. If you cansee the red part on the upper side of the button, itis not locked completely. Insert it fully until the redpart cannot be seen. If not, it may accidentally fallout of the tool, causing injury to you or someonearound you.• Do not use force when inserting the batterycartridge. If the cartridge does not slide in easily, itis not being inserted correctly.Battery protection system(Lithium-ion battery with star marking)Fig.5Lithium-ion batteries with a star marking are equippedwith a protection system. This system automatically cutsoff power to the tool to extend battery life.The tool will automatically stop during operation if thetool and/or battery are placed under one of the followingconditions:• Overloaded:The tool is operated in a manner that causesit to draw an abnormally high current.In this situation, release the trigger switch onthe tool and stop the application that causedthe tool to become overloaded. Then pull thetrigger switch again to restart.If the tool does not start, the battery isoverheated. In this situation, let the batterycool before pulling the trigger switch again.• Low battery voltage:The remaining battery capacity is too low andthe tool will not operate. In this situation,remove and recharge the battery.Blade guardFor all countries other than European countriesFig.6When lowering the handle, the blade guard risesautomatically. The guard is spring loaded so it returns toits original position when the cut is completed and thehandle is raised.WARNING:• Never defeat or remove the blade guard or thespring which attaches to the guard. An exposedblade as a result of defeated guarding may resultin serious personal injury during operation.In the interest of your personal safety, always maintain theblade guard in good condition. Any irregular operation ofthe blade guard should be corrected immediately. Checkto assure spring loaded return action of guard.WARNING:• Never use the tool if the blade guard or springare damaged, faulty or removed. Operation ofthe tool with a damaged, faulty or removed guardmay result in serious personal injury.
