Do not incinerate the battery cartridge even ifit is severely damaged or is completely wornout. The battery cartridge can explode in a fire.8. Be careful not to drop or strike battery.9. Do not use a damaged battery.10. Follow your local regulations relating todisposal of battery.SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.Tips for maintaining maximum battery life1. Charge the battery cartridge beforecompletely discharged.Always stop tool operation and charge thebattery cartridge when you notice less toolpower.2. Never recharge a fully charged batterycartridge.Overcharging shortens the battery service life.3. Charge the battery cartridge with roomtemperature at 10 ゚ C - 40 ゚ C (50 ゚ F - 104 ゚ F).Let a hot battery cartridge cool down beforecharging it.FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTIONCAUTION:• Always be sure that the tool is switched off and thebattery cartridge is removed before adjusting orchecking function on the tool.Installing or removing battery cartridgeFig.1• Always switch off the tool before installing orremoving of the battery cartridge.• To remove the battery cartridge, withdraw it fromthe tool while pressing the buttons on both sides ofthe cartridge.• To install the battery cartridge, hold it so that thebattery cartridge front shape fits to that of thebattery installment opening and slip it into place.Always insert it all the way until it locks in place witha little click. If not, it may accidentally fall out of thetool, causing injury to you or someone around you.• Do not use force when installing the batterycartridge. If the cartridge does not slide in easily, itis not being inserted correctly.Battery protection systemThe tool is equipped with a battery protection system. This system automatically cuts off power to the motor toextend battery life. The tool will automatically stop during operation if the tooland/or battery are placed under one of the followingconditions:• Overloaded:The tool is operated in a manner that causesit to draw an abnormally high current. In thissituation, release the switch trigger on the tooland stop the application that caused the toolto become overloaded. Then pull the switchtrigger again to restart.• Low battery voltage:The remaining battery capacity is too low andthe tool will not operate. If you pull the switchtrigger, the motor runs again but stops soon.In this situation, remove and recharge thebattery.Adjusting depth of cutFig.2CAUTION:• After adjusting the depth of cut, always tighten theclamping screw securely.Loosen the clamping screw on the depth guide and movethe base up or down. At the desired depth of cut, securethe base by tightening the clamping screw.Bevel cuttingFig.3Loosen the clamping screw on the bevel scale plate onthe front of the base.
