7 ENGLISHSwitch actionWARNING: Before installing the battery car-tridge into the tool, always check to see that theswitch trigger actuates properly and returns tothe "OFF" position when released.CAUTION: When not operating the tool,depress the trigger-lock button from side tolock the switch trigger in the OFF position.To prevent the switch trigger from accidentally pulled,the trigger-lock button is provided. To start the tool,depress the trigger-lock button from A ( ) side and pullthe switch trigger. Tool speed is increased by increas-ing pressure on the switch trigger. Release the switchtrigger to stop. After use, depress the trigger-lock buttonfrom B ( ) side.► Fig.3: 1. Trigger-lock button 2. Switch triggerUsing the trigger-lock button forcontinuous operationFor continuous operation, depress the trigger-lock but-ton from B ( ) side while pulling the switch trigger, andthen release the switch trigger. Speed adjusting dialThe blows per minute can be changed by turning thespeed adjusting dial to a given number setting from 1 to5. Higher speed is obtained when the dial is turned inthe direction of number 5. And lower speed is obtainedwhen it is turned in the direction of number 1.Refer to the table for the relationship between the num-ber settings on the dial and the blows per minute.Number Blows per minute1 1,000 min -12 1,300 min -13 1,900 min-14 2,700 min-15 3,200 min -1CAUTION: Do not turn the adjusting dial whenthe tool is running. Failure to do so may result inthe loss of control of the tool and cause an injury.NOTICE: The speed adjusting dial can be turnedonly as far as 5 and back to 1. Do not force it past5 or 1, or the speed adjusting function may nolonger work.Lighting up the front lamp► Fig.6: 1. LampCAUTION: Do not look in the light or see thesource of light directly.Pull the switch trigger to light up the lamp. The lampkeeps on lighting while the switch trigger is being pulled.The lamp goes out approximately 10 seconds afterreleasing the switch trigger.NOTE: Use a dry cloth to wipe the dirt off the lens ofthe lamp. Be careful not to scratch the lens of lamp, orit may lower the illumination.Electronic functionThe tool is equipped with the electronic functions foreasy operation.• Constant speed controlThe speed control function provides the constantrotation speed regardless of load conditions.ASSEMBLYCAUTION: Always be sure that the tool isswitched off and the battery cartridge is removedbefore carrying out any work on the tool.GreaseCoat the shank end of the bit beforehand with a smallamount of grease (about 0.5 - 1 g). This chuck lubrica-tion assures smooth action and longer service life.Installing or removing bitClean the shank end of the bit and apply grease beforeinstalling the bit.► Fig.7: 1. Shank end 2. GreaseInsert the bit into the tool. Turn the bit and push it in untilit engages. After installing the bit, always make surethat the bit is securely held in place by trying to pull itout.► Fig.8: 1. BitTo remove the bit, pull the chuck cover down all the wayand pull the bit out.► Fig.9: 1. Bit 2. Chuck coverBit angleThe bit can be secured at 12 different angles. Tochange the bit angle, slide the change ring forward,then turn the change ring to change the bit angle. At thedesired angle, slide the change ring back to the originalposition.
