8 ENGLISHHookCAUTION: Always remove the battery whenhanging the tool with the hook.CAUTION: Never hook the tool at high loca-tion or on potentially unstable surface.Using the hookThe hook is convenient for temporarily hanging the tool.To use the hook, simply lift up hook until it snaps intothe open position. When not in use, always lower hookuntil it snaps into the closed position.► Fig.11: 1. Hook► Fig.12Removing or installing the hookTo remove the hook, loosen the screws and remove thewashers and hook. To install the hook, insert the wash-ers to the slits on the tool housing, and then secure thehook with 2 screws.► Fig.13: 1. Hook 2. Screw 3. WasherConnecting lanyard (tether strap) tothe hookCAUTION: Do not use damaged hook andscrews. Before use, always check for damages,cracks or deformations, and make sure that thescrews are tightened.CAUTION: Install or remove the hook on astable table or surface. Be sure to use the screwsprovided with the hook only. After installingthe hook, make sure that the hook is securelyinstalled with the screws.CAUTION: Do not remove the battery car-tridge while hanging the tool. The tool may fall if thescrews are not tightened.CAUTION: Always use a locking carabiner(multi-action and screw gate type) and be sureto attach the lanyard (tether strap) to the doublelooped portion of the hook. Improper attachmentmay cause tool drop from the hook and result inpersonal injury.The hook is also used for connecting the lanyard (tetherstrap). Locking cara-biner (multi-action and screw gate type)OPERATIONCAUTION: Always hold the tool firmly withboth hands during operations.CAUTION: Always make sure that the work-piece is secured before operation.CAUTION: Do not pull the tool out forciblyeven the bit gets stuck. Loss of control maycause injury.NOTE: If the battery cartridge is in low temperature,the tool’s capability may not be fully obtained. In thiscase, warm up the battery cartridge by using thetool with no load for a while to fully obtain the tool’scapability.Hold the tool firmly with both hands. Turn the tool onand apply slight pressure on the tool so that the tool willnot bounce around, uncontrolled. Pressing very hard onthe tool will not increase the efficiency.► Fig.15Connecting lanyard (tether strap) tohookSafety warnings specific for use at heightRead all safety warnings and instructions. Failureto follow the warnings and instructions may result inserious injury.1. Always keep the tool tethered when working"at height". Maximum lanyard length is 2 m.The maximum permissible fall height for lan-yard (tether strap) must not exceed 2 m.2. Use only with lanyards appropriate for this tooltype and rated for at least 4.0 kg.3. Do not anchor the tool lanyard to anything onyour body or on movable components. Anchorthe tool lanyard to a rigid structure that canwithstand the forces of a dropped tool.4. Make sure the lanyard is properly secured ateach end prior to use.5. Inspect the tool and lanyard before each usefor damage and proper function (includingfabric and stitching). Do not use if damaged ornot functioning properly.6. Do not wrap lanyards around or allow them tocome in contact with sharp or rough edges.7. Fasten the other end of the lanyard outsidethe working area so that a falling tool is heldsecurely.8. Attach the lanyard so that the tool will moveaway from the operator if it falls. Dropped toolswill swing on the lanyard, which could cause injuryor loss of balance.9. Do not use near moving parts or runningmachinery. Failure to do so may result in a crushor entanglement hazard.10. Do not carry the tool by the attachment deviceor the lanyard.11. Only transfer the tool between your handswhile you are properly balanced. |
