Charge the battery cartridge beforecompletely discharged.Always stop tool operation and charge thebattery cartridge when you notice less toolpower.2. Never recharge a fully charged batterycartridge.Overcharging shortens the battery service life.3. Charge the battery cartridge with roomtemperature at 10 ﾟ C - 40 ﾟ C (50 ﾟ F - 104 ﾟ F).Let a hot battery cartridge cool down beforecharging it.4. Charge the battery cartridge once in every sixmonths if you do not use it for a long periodof time.FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTIONCAUTION:• Always be sure that the tool is switched off and thebattery cartridge is removed before adjusting orchecking function on the tool.Installing or removing battery cartridgeFig.1CAUTION:• Always switch off the tool before installing orremoving of the battery cartridge.• Hold the tool and the battery cartridge firmly wheninstalling or removing battery cartridge. Failure tohold the tool and the battery cartridge firmly may causethem to slip off your hands and result in damage to thetool and battery cartridge and a personal injury.To remove the battery cartridge, slide it from the toolwhile sliding the button on the front of the cartridge.To install the battery cartridge, align the tongue on thebattery cartridge with the groove in the housing and slipit into place. Insert it all the way until it locks in placewith a little click. If you can see the red indicator on theupper side of the button, it is not locked completely.CAUTION:• Always install the battery cartridge fully until thered indicator cannot be seen. If not, it mayaccidentally fall out of the tool, causing injury toyou or someone around you.• Do not install the battery cartridge forcibly. If thecartridge does not slide in easily, it is not beinginserted correctly.Battery protection system(Lithium-ion battery with star marking)Fig.2Lithium-ion batteries with a star marking are equippedwith a protection system. This system automatically cutsoff power to the tool to extend battery life.The tool will automatically stop during operation if thetool and/or battery are placed under one of the followingconditions:• Overloaded:The tool is operated in a manner that causesit to draw an abnormally high current.In this situation, release the switch trigger onthe tool and stop the application that causedthe tool to become overloaded. Then pull theswitch trigger again to restart.If the tool does not start, the battery isoverheated. In this situation, let the batterycool before pulling the switch trigger again.• Low battery voltage:The remaining battery capacity is too lowand the tool will not operate. In this situation,remove and recharge the battery.
