52. Do not disassemble battery cartridge.3. If operating time has become excessivelyshorter, stop operating immediately. It mayresult in a risk of overheating, possible burnsand even an explosion.4. If electrolyte gets into your eyes, rinse themout with clear water and seek medicalattention right away. It may result in loss ofyour eyesight.5. Do not short the battery cartridge:(1) Do not touch the terminals with anyconductive material.(2) Avoid storing battery cartridge in acontainer with other metal objects suchas nails, coins, etc.(3) Do not expose battery cartridge to wateror rain.A battery short can cause a large current flow,overheating, possible burns and even abreakdown.6. Do not store the tool and battery cartridge inlocations where the temperature may reach orexceed 50 ﾟ C (122 ﾟ F).7. Do not incinerate the battery cartridge even ifit is severely damaged or is completely wornout. The battery cartridge can explode in a fire.8. Be careful not to drop or strike battery.9. Charge the battery cartridge beforecompletely discharged.Always stop tool operation and charge thebattery cartridge when you notice less toolpower.2. Never recharge a fully charged batterycartridge.Overcharging shortens the battery service life.3. Charge the battery cartridge with roomtemperature at 10 ﾟ C - 40 ﾟ C (50 ﾟ F - 104 ﾟ F).Let a hot battery cartridge cool down beforecharging it.4. Charge the battery cartridge once in every sixmonths if you do not use it for a long periodof time.FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTIONCAUTION:• Always be sure that the tool is switched off and thebattery cartridge is removed before adjusting orchecking function on the tool.Installing or removing battery cartridgeFig.1CAUTION:• Always switch off the tool before installing orremoving of the battery cartridge.• Hold the tool and the battery cartridge firmlywhen installing or removing battery cartridge.Failure to hold the tool and the battery cartridgefirmly may cause them to slip off your hands andresult in damage to the tool and battery cartridgeand a personal injury.To remove the battery cartridge, slide it from the toolwhile sliding the button on the front of the cartridge.To install the battery cartridge, align the tongue on thebattery cartridge with the groove in the housing and slipit into place. Insert it all the way until it locks in placewith a little click. If you can see the red indicator on theupper side of the button, it is not locked completely.CAUTION:• Always install the battery cartridge fully until thered indicator cannot be seen. If not, it mayaccidentally fall out of the tool, causing injury toyou or someone around you.• Do not install the battery cartridge forcibly. If thecartridge does not slide in easily, it is not beinginserted correctly.Battery protection system(Lithium-ion battery with star marking)Fig.2Lithium-ion batteries with a star marking are equippedwith a protection system. This system automatically cutsoff power to the tool to extend battery life.The tool will automatically stop during operation if thetool and/or battery are placed under one of the followingconditions:• Overloaded:The tool is operated in a manner that causesit to draw an abnormally high current.In this situation, release the switchlever/trigger on the tool and stop theapplication that caused the tool to becomeoverloaded. Then pull the switch lever/triggeragain to restart.If the tool does not start, the battery isoverheated. In this situation, let the batterycool before pulling the switch lever/triggeragain.
