19 ENGLISHDust bagOptional accessoryThe use of the dust bag makes cutting operationscleaner and dust collection easier.To attach the dust bag, fit it onto the dust nozzle.To attach the fastener, align the top end of the fastenerwith the triangular mark on the dust bag.When the dust bag is about half full, remove the dustbag from the tool and pull the fastener out. Emptythe dust bag of its contents, tapping it lightly so as toremove particles adhering to the insides which mighthamper further collection.► Fig.37: 1. Dust bag 2. Dust nozzle 3. FastenerNOTE: If you connect a vacuum cleaner to your saw,cleaner operations can be performed.Securing workpieceWARNING: It is extremely important to alwayssecure the workpiece correctly with the proper type ofvise. Failure to do so may result in serious personal injuryand cause damage to the tool and/or the workpiece.WARNING: When cutting a workpiece that islonger than the support base of the saw, supportthe entire length of the material beyond the supportbase and at the same height to keep the materiallevel. Proper workpiece support helps to avoid bladepinch and possible kickback which may result in seriouspersonal injury. Do not rely solely on the vertical viseand/or horizontal vise to secure the workpiece. Thinmaterial tends to sag. Support workpiece over its entirelength to avoid blade pinch and possible KICKBACK.► Fig.38: 1. Support 2. Turn baseVertical viseWARNING: Secure the workpiece firmlyagainst the turn base and guide fence with thevise during all operations. Otherwise the materialmay move during the cutting operation, cause dam-age to the blade, and be thrown which may result inloss of control and serious personal injury.Install the vertical vise on either the left or right side ofthe guide fence or the holder assembly (optional acces-sory). Insert the vise rod into the hole in the guide fenceor the holder assembly and tighten the lower screw tosecure the vise rod.► Fig.39: 1. Vise arm 2. Vise rod 3. Guide fence4. Holder 5. Holder assembly 6. Vise knob7. Lower screw 8. Upper screwPosition the vise arm according to the thickness andshape of the workpiece and secure the vise arm bytightening the upper screw. If the upper screw contactsthe guide fence, install the upper screw on the oppositeside of vise arm. Make sure that no part of the toolcontacts the vise when lowering the handle fully andpulling or pushing the carriage all the way. If some partcontacts the vise, re-position the vise.Press the workpiece flat against the guide fence and theturn base. Position the workpiece at the desired cuttingposition and secure it firmly by tightening the vise knob.Horizontal viseOptional accessoryWARNING: Grip the workpiece only when theindicator is at the topmost position. Failure to doso may result in insufficient securing of the workpiece.This may cause the workpiece to be thrown, causedamage to the blade or cause the loss of control,which may result in personal injury.► Fig.40: 1. BaseThe horizontal vise can be installed on the left side ofthe base.By turning the vise knob counterclockwise, the screw isreleased and the vise shaft can be moved rapidly in and out. Byturning the vise knob clockwise, the screw remains secured.To grip the workpiece, turn the vise knob gently clock-wise until the indicator reaches its topmost position,then fasten securely. If the vise knob is forced in orpulled out while being turned clockwise, the indicatormay stop at an angle. In this case, turn the vise knobback counterclockwise until the screw is released, andthen turn it again gently clockwise.The maximum capacity of the horizontal vise is 120 mm width.Holders and holder assemblyOptional accessoryWARNING: Always support a long workpieceso it is level with the top surface of the turn basefor an accurate cut and to prevent dangerous lossof tool control. Proper workpiece support helps toavoid blade pinch and possible kickback which mayresult in serious personal injury.The holders and the holder assembly (optional acces-sory) can be installed on either side as a convenientmeans of supporting workpieces horizontally.Install them on the side of the tool, then tighten thescrews firmly to secure them.► Fig.41: 1. Holder 2. Holder assemblyWhen cutting long workpieces, use the holder-rodassembly (optional accessory). It consists of two holderassemblies and two rods 12.► Fig.42: 1. Holder assembly 2. Rod 12OPERATIONWARNING: Make sure the blade is not contact-ing the workpiece, etc. before the switch is turned on.Turning the tool on with the blade in contact with the work-piece may result in kickback and serious personal injury.WARNING: After a cutting operation, do notraise the blade until it has come to a completestop. The raising of a coasting blade may result inserious personal injury and damage to the workpiece.WARNING: Do not touch the clamp screwswhich secure the slide poles while the saw bladeis rotating. Otherwise the tool may lose control andresult in personal injury.
