10 ENGLISHCutting lubricantOptional accessoryCAUTION: Never use cutting oil or applyexcessive amount of wax to the band saw blade. Itmay cause the blade to slip or come off unexpectedly.CAUTION: When cutting cast iron, do not useany cutting wax.When cutting metals, use Makita cutting wax as a cut-ting lubricant. To apply the cutting wax to the teeth ofthe band saw blade, remove a cap of the cutting wax,start the tool and cut into the cutting wax as illustrated.► Fig.20: 1. Cutting waxMAINTENANCECAUTION: Always be sure that the tool isswitched off and the battery cartridge is removedbefore attempting to perform inspection ormaintenance.NOTICE: Never use gasoline, benzine, thinner,alcohol or the like. Discoloration, deformation orcracks may result.To maintain product SAFETY and RELIABILITY,repairs, any other maintenance or adjustment shouldbe performed by Makita Authorized or Factory ServiceCenters, always using Makita replacement parts.CleaningCAUTION: Wax and chips on the rubber tireson the wheel may cause the band saw blade toslip and come off unexpectedly. Use a dry cloth toremove wax and chips from the rubber tires.After use, remove wax, chips and dust from the tool,rubber tires on the wheel and the band saw blade.Replacing rubber tires on thewheelsReplace the rubber tires when the band saw blade slipsor does not track properly because of badly worn tires.To replace the rubber tire, ask for the Makita Authorizedor Factory Service Centers.OPTIONALACCESSORIESCAUTION: These accessories or attachmentsare recommended for use with your Makita toolspecified in this manual.
