Thumbscrew► Fig.38OPERATIONUsing the tool with the trimmer baseSet the tool base on the workpiece without the trimmer bitmaking any contact. Turn the tool on and wait until the bitattains full speed. Move the tool forward over the workpiecesurface. Keep the tool base flush while moving the tool.When cutting the edge, be sure to keep the workpiecesurface on the left side of the trimmer bit in the feeddirection.► Fig.39NOTE: Before cutting on the actual workpiece, it isrecommended to make a sample cut. The proper feedspeed depends on the trimmer bit size, the kind ofworkpiece, and depth of cut. Moving the tool forwardtoo fast may cause a poor quality of cut, or damageto the bit or motor. Moving the tool forward too slowlymay burn and mar the cutting surface.When using the trimmer shoe, the straight guide, or thetrimmer guide, be sure to keep it on the right side in thefeed direction.
