19 ENGLISHUsing the tool with the tilt baseThe tilt base is convenient for chamfering. Loosen thewing screws, then tilt the tool at the desired angle, andthen tighten the wing screws.Firmly clamp a straight board to the workpiece and useit as a guide against the tilt base. Feed the tool in thedirection of the arrow.► Fig.57: 1. Trimmer base plateUsing the tool with the offset baseThe offset base is convenient for work in a tight areasuch as a corner.► Fig.59Using the trimmer base with theoffset base plate and gripThe offset base plate can also be used with a trimmerbase and a grip attachment (optional accessory) formore stability.1. Loosen the screws on the base plate, then removethe base plate from the offset base.► Fig.60: 1. Offset base plate 2. Trimmer base plate2. Attach the offset base plate to the trimmer base bytightening the screws.3. Attach the grip attachment and the bar type grip tothe offset base plate by tightening the screws.► Fig.61: 1. Bar type grip 2. Grip attachmentThe knob type grip removed from the plunge base canbe installed on the offset base instead of the bar typegrip.► Fig.62: 1. Screw 2. Knob type gripUsing the tool with the plunge baseAlways hold the grips firmly with both hands duringoperation. Loosen the screws on the base and remove them.Place the templet guide on the base, and then tightenthe screws.► Fig.66: 1. Screw 2. Templet guide2. Operate the tool in the same way as the templetguide for the trimmer base.► Fig.67Using the parallel rulerThe parallel ruler is effectively used for straight cutswhen chamfering or grooving. Adjust the distancebetween the bit and the parallel ruler. At the desireddistance, tighten the wing bolts to secure the parallelruler. When cutting, move the tool with the parallel rulerflush with the side of the workpiece.► Fig.68If the distance (A) between the side of the workpieceand the cutting position is too wide for the parallel ruler,or if the side of the workpiece is not straight, the parallelruler cannot be used.In this case, firmly clamp a straight board to the work-piece and use it as a guide against the plunge base.Feed the tool in the direction of the arrow.► Fig.69Changing knob type grip to bar typegripTo install the bar type grip on the plunge base, loosenthe screw of the knob type grip, then remove the knobtype grip, and then install the bar type grip by tighteningit.► Fig.70: 1.
