101006326Run the tool for several minutes to warm it up. Switch offand unplug the tool.Loosen the four screws and remove the handle. Notethat the top screws are different from other screws.Disconnect the connector by pulling them.123006327Loosen the screws and remove the change lever.123006328Remove the crank cap cover.Remove the control plate. (Except for model HR4011C.)1006329Loosen the six screws with a screwdriver and remove thecrank cap. Rest the tool on the table with the bit endpointing upwards. This will allow the old grease to collectinside the crank housing.12006330Wipe out the old grease inside and replace with a freshgrease (60 g). Use only Makita genuine hammer grease(optional accessory). Filling with more than the specifiedamount of grease (approx. 60 g) can cause faultyhammering action or tool failure. Fill only with thespecified amount of grease.1006331Reinstall the crank cap and tighten with the screwdriver.Connect the connector and reinstall the handle.123006332CAUTION:• Do not tighten the crank cap excessively. It is madeof resin and is subject to breakage.• Be careful not to damage the connector or leadwires especially when wiping out the old grease orinstalling the handle.To maintain product SAFETY and RELIABILITY, repairs,any other maintenance or adjustment should beperformed by Makita Authorized Service Centers, alwaysusing Makita replacement parts.1.
