Movement of themiter saw on the supporting surface while cutting mayresult in loss of control and serious personal injury.1. Fix the base to a level and stable surface, screw-ing with the bolts. Turn the adjusting bolt clockwise or counterclock-wise so that it comes into a contact with the floor sur-face to keep the tool stable.► Fig.5: 1. Adjusting boltInstalling the dust extraction hoseConnect the dust extraction hose to the tool asillustrated.Make sure that the elbow and the sleeve fit properly tothe ports of the tool.► Fig.6: 1. PortTo remove the elbow from the port, pull the elbow whilepressing down the lock button.To remove the sleeve from the port, turn it clockwiseand then pull it apart.► Fig.7: 1. Elbow 2. Failure to switch off and remove the batterycartridge may result in serious personal injury fromaccidental start-up.Installing or removing batterycartridgeCAUTION: Always switch off the tool beforeinstalling or removing of the battery cartridge.CAUTION: Hold the tool and the battery car-tridge firmly when installing or removing batterycartridge. Failure to hold the tool and the batterycartridge firmly may cause them to slip off your handsand result in damage to the tool and battery cartridgeand a personal injury.► Fig.8: 1. Red indicator 2. Battery cartridgeTo remove the battery cartridge, slide it from the toolwhile sliding the button on the front of the cartridge.To install the battery cartridge, align the tongue on thebattery cartridge with the groove in the housing and slipit into place. Insert it all the way until it locks in placewith a little click. If you can see the red indicator on theupper side of the button, it is not locked completely.CAUTION: Always install the battery cartridgefully until the red indicator cannot be seen. If not,it may accidentally fall out of the tool, causing injury toyou or someone around you.CAUTION: Do not install the battery cartridgeforcibly. If the cartridge does not slide in easily, it isnot being inserted correctly.Tool / battery protection systemThe tool is equipped with a tool/battery protection sys-tem. This system automatically cuts off power to themotor to extend tool and battery life. The tool will auto-matically stop during operation if the tool or battery isplaced under one of the following conditions:Overload protectionWhen the tool/battery is operated in a manner thatcauses it to draw an abnormally high current, the toolautomatically stops. In this situation, turn the tool offand stop the application that caused the tool to becomeoverloaded. Then turn the tool on to restart.Overheat protectionWhen the tool/battery is overheated, the tool stopsautomatically. In this situation, let the tool/battery coolbefore turning the tool on again.Overdischarge protectionWhen the battery capacity becomes low, the tool stopsautomatically. If the product does not operate evenwhen the switches are operated, remove the batteriesfrom the tool and charge the batteries.Indicating the remaining batterycapacityPress the check button on the battery cartridge to indi-cate the remaining battery capacity.
