Release the stopper pinby lowering the handle slightly and pulling the stopperpin.This tool should be bolted with two bolts to a level andstable surface using the bolt holes provided in the tool’sbase. This will help prevent tipping and possible injury.Turn the adjusting bolt clockwise or counterclockwise sothat it comes into a contact with the floor surface to keepthe tool stable.FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTIONCAUTION:• Always be sure that the tool is switched off andunplugged before adjusting or checking function onthe tool.Blade guardWhen lowering the handle, the blade guard rises auto-matically. The guard is spring loaded so it returns to itsoriginal position when the cut is completed and the han-dle is raised. NEVER DEFEAT OR REMOVE THEBLADE GUARD OR THE SPRING WHICH ATTACHESTO THE GUARD.In the interest of your personal safety, always maintainthe blade guard in good condition. Any irregular opera-tion of the blade guard should be corrected immediately.Check to assure spring loaded return action of guard.NEVER USE THE TOOL IF THE BLADE GUARD ORSPRING ARE DAMAGED, FAULTY OR REMOVED.DOING SO IS HIGHLY DANGEROUS AND CAN CAUSESERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY.If the see-through blade guard becomes dirty, or sawdustadheres to it in such a way that the blade is no longereasily visible, unplug the saw and clean the guard care-fully with a damp cloth. Do not use solvents or any petro-leum-based cleaners on the plastic guard.If the blade guard is especially dirty and vision throughthe guard is impaired, use the supplied socket wrench toloosen the hex bolt holding the center cover. Loosen thehex bolt by turning it counterclockwise and raise theblade guard and center cover. With the blade guard sopositioned, cleaning can be more completely and effi-ciently accomplished.
