19When adjusting the laser line appears on the rightside of the saw blade1 2 3005528For both adjustments, do as follows.1. Make sure that the tool is unplugged.2. Draw the cutting line on the workpiece and place iton the turn table. At this time, do not secure theworkpiece with a vise or similar securing device.3. Lower the blade by lowering the handle and justcheck to see where the cutting line and theposition of the saw blade is. (Decide whichposition to cut on the line of cut.)4. After decision the position to be cut, return thehandle to the original position. Secure theworkpiece with the vertical vise without shiftingthe workpiece from the pre-checked position.5. Plug the tool and turn on the laser switch.6. Adjust the position of laser line as follows.The position of laser line can be changed as themovable range of the adjusting screw for the laser ischanged by turning two screws with a hex wrench. (Themovable range of laser line is factory adjusted within 1mm from the side surface of blade.)To shift the laser line movable range further away fromthe side surface of blade, turn the two screwscounterclockwise after loosening the adjusting screw.Turn these two screws clockwise to shift it closer to theside surface of the blade after loosening the adjustingscrew.Refer to the section titled "Laser line action" and adjustthe adjusting screw so that the cutting line on yourworkpiece is aligned with the laser line.NOTE:• Check the position of laser line regularly foraccuracy .• Have the tool repaired by Makita authorizedservice center for any failure on the laser unit.Replacing fluorescent tubeFor model LS0714F, LS0714FL onlyFig.56CAUTION:• Always be sure that the tool is switched off andunplugged before replacing the fluorescent tube.• Do not apply force, impact or scratch to afluorescent tube, which can cause a glass of thefluorescent tube to be broken resulting in a injury toyou or your bystanders.• Leave the fluorescent tube for a while immediatelyafter a use of it and then replace it. You mayburn yourself.Remove screws, which secure Lamp Box for the light.Pull out the Lamp Box keeping pushing lightly the upperposition of it as illustrated on the left.Pull out the fluorescent tube and then replace it withMakita original new one.Cleaning of the lens for the laser lightFor model LS0714FL, LS0714LFig.57If the lens for the laser light becomes dirty, or sawdustadheres to it in such a way that the laser line is no longereasily visible, unplug the saw and remove and clean thelens for the laser light carefully with a damp, soft cloth.Do not use solvents or any petroleum-based cleaners onthe lens.Fig.58To remove the lens for the laser light, remove the sawblade before removing the lens according to theinstructions in the section titled "Installing or removingsaw blade".Loosen but do not remove the screw which secures thelens using a screwdriver.Pull out the lens as shown in the figure.NOTE:• If the lens does not come out, loosen the screwfurther and pull out the lens again without removingthe screw.Replacing carbon brushesFig.59Remove and check the carbon brushes regularly.Replace when they wear down to the limit mark. Keepthe carbon brushes clean and free to slip in the holders.Both carbon brushes should be replaced at the sametime.
