27To remove the lens for the laser light, remove the sawblade before removing the lens according to theinstructions in the section titled "Installing or removingsaw blade".Loosen but do not remove the screw which secures thelens using a screwdriver.Pull out the lens as shown in the figure.NOTE:• If the lens does not come out, loosen the screwfurther and pull out the lens again without removingthe screw.Replacing carbon brushes1001145Remove and check the carbon brushes regularly.Replace when they wear down to the limit mark. Keepthe carbon brushes clean and free to slip in the holders.Both carbon brushes should be replaced at the sametime. Use only identical carbon brushes.Use a screwdriver to remove the brush holder caps.Take out the worn carbon brushes, insert the new onesand secure the brush holder caps.12009516After replacing brushes, plug in the tool and break inbrushes by running tool with no load for about 10minutes. Then check the tool while running and electricbrake operation when releasing the switch trigger. If theelectric brake is not working correctly, have the toolrepaired by a Makita service centerAfter use• After use, wipe off chips and dust adhering to thetool with a cloth or the like. Keep the blade guardclean according to the directions in the previouslycovered section titled "Blade guard".
