Hold power tool by insulated gripping sur-faces, because the cutter may contact its owncord. Cutting a “live” wire may make exposedmetal parts of the power tool “live” and shock theoperator.2. Use clamps or another practical way to secureand support the workpiece to a stable plat-form. Holding the work by your hand or againstthe body leaves it unstable and may lead to loss ofcontrol.3. Wear hearing protection during extendedperiod of operation.4. Handle the router bits very carefully.5. Check the router bit carefully for cracks ordamage before operation. Replace cracked ordamaged bit immediately.6. Avoid cutting nails. Inspect for and remove allnails from the workpiece before operation.7. Hold the tool firmly with both hands.8. Keep hands away from rotating parts.9. Make sure the router bit is not contacting theworkpiece before the switch is turned on.10. Before using the tool on an actual workpiece, let it run for a while. Watch for vibration orwobbling that could indicate improperlyinstalled bit.11. Be careful of the router bit rotating directionand the feed direction.12. Do not leave the tool running. Operate the toolonly when hand-held.13. Always switch off and wait for the router bit tocome to a complete stop before removing thetool from workpiece.14. Do not touch the router bit immediately afteroperation; it may be extremely hot and couldburn your skin.15. Do not smear the tool base carelessly withthinner, gasoline, oil or the like. They maycause cracks in the tool base.16. Use router bits of the correct shank diametersuitable for the speed of the tool.17. Some material contains chemicals which maybe toxic. Take caution to prevent dust inhala-tion and skin contact. Follow material suppliersafety data.18. Always use the correct dust mask/respiratorfor the material and application you are work-ing with.SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.WARNING: DO NOT let comfort or familiaritywith product (gained from repeated use) replacestrict adherence to safety rules for the subjectproduct. MISUSE or failure to follow the safetyrules stated in this instruction manual may causeserious personal injury.FUNCTIONALDESCRIPTIONCAUTION: Always be sure that the tool isswitched off and unplugged before adjusting orchecking function on the tool.Adjusting the depth of cut1. Place the tool on a flat surface. Loosen the screwsecuring the stopper pole.► Fig.1: 1. Stopper pole 2. Screw2. Loosen the lock lever and lower the tool body untilthe router bit just touches the flat surface. Tighten thelock lever to lock the tool body.► Fig.2: 1. Lock lever 2. Screw3. Lower the stopper pole until it makes contact withthe adjusting hex bolt. Align the depth pointer with the"0" graduation.► Fig.3: 1. Depth pointer 2. Screw 3. Stopper pole4. Adjusting hex bolt 5. Stopper block4. Raise the stopper pole until the desired depthof cut is obtained. The depth of cut is indicated on thescale (1 mm per graduation) by the depth pointer. Thentighten the screw to secure the stopper pole.5. Your predetermined depth of cut can be obtainedby loosening the lock lever and then lowering the toolbody until the stopper pole makes contact with theadjusting hex bolt.CAUTION: Since excessive cutting may causeoverload of the motor or difficulty in controllingthe tool, the depth of cut should not be more than15 mm (9/16″) at a pass when cutting grooveswith an 8 mm (5/16″) diameter bit.CAUTION: When cutting grooves with a 20mm (13/16″) diameter bit, the depth of cut shouldnot be more than 5 mm (3/16″) at a pass.CAUTION: When you wish to cut groovesmore than 15 mm (9/16″) deep with an 8 mm(5/16″) diameter bit or more than 5 mm (3/16″)deep with a 20 mm (13/16″) diameter bit, makeseveral passes with progressively deeper bitsettings.
