Remove the sprocket cover then remove the sawchain and guide bar from the chain saw body.Adjusting saw chain tensionCAUTION: Carry out the procedure of install-ing or removing saw chain in a clean place freefrom sawdust and the like.CAUTION: Do not tighten the saw chain toomuch. Excessively high tension of saw chain maycause breakage of saw chain, wear of the guide barand breakage of the adjusting dial.CAUTION: A chain which is too loose canjump off the bar and it may cause an injuryaccident.The saw chain may become loose after many hoursof use. Turn the adjusting dial to the "-" directionto loosen, turn to the "+" direction to tighten. Tighten thesaw chain until the lower side of the saw chain fits in theguide bar rail as illustrated.123Fig.21► 1. Adjusting dial 2. Guide bar 3. Saw chain4. Keep holding the guide bar lightly and tighten thesprocket cover by turning the lever clockwise. Makesure not to loosen the saw chain at the lower side.5. Return the lever to the original position.Make sure the saw chain fits snugly against the lowerside of the guide bar.
