5FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTIONCAUTION:• Always be sure that the tool is switched off and thebattery cartridge is removed before adjusting orchecking function on the tool.Installing or removing battery cartridge123012781CAUTION:• Always switch off the tool before installing orremoving of the battery cartridge.• Hold the tool and the battery cartridge firmly wheninstalling or removing battery cartridge. Failure tohold the tool and the battery cartridge firmly maycause them to slip off your hands and result indamage to the tool and battery cartridge and apersonal injury.To remove the battery cartridge, slide it from the toolwhile sliding the button on the front of the cartridge.To install the battery cartridge, align the tongue on thebattery cartridge with the groove in the housing and slip itinto place. Insert it all the way until it locks in place with alittle click. If you can see the red indicator on the upperside of the button, it is not locked completely.CAUTION:• Always install the battery cartridge fully until the redindicator cannot be seen. If not, it may accidentallyfall out of the tool, causing injury to you or someonearound you.• Do not install the battery cartridge forcibly. If thecartridge does not slide in easily, it is not beinginserted correctly.Battery protection system(Lithium-ion battery with star marking)1012128Lithium-ion batteries with a star marking are equippedwith a protection system. This system automatically cutsoff power to the tool to extend battery life.The tool will automatically stop during operation if the tooland/or battery are placed under one of the followingconditions:• Overloaded:The tool is operated in a manner that causesit to draw an abnormally high current.In this situation, release the switch trigger onthe tool and stop the application that causedthe tool to become overloaded. Then pull theswitch trigger again to restart.If the tool does not start, the battery isoverheated. In this situation, let the batterycool before pulling the switch trigger again.• Low battery voltage:The remaining battery capacity is too low andthe tool will not operate. In this situation,remove and recharge the battery.Switch action1012782CAUTION:• Before inserting the battery cartridge into the tool,always check to see that the switch trigger actuatesproperly and returns to the "OFF" position whenreleased.To start the tool, simply pull the switch trigger.
