LeverNOTE: The scale on the guide plate is only a roughindication. For more accurate angle, use a protractoror triangle ruler. Keep the handle down so that thecut-off wheel extends into the base. At the same time,adjust the angle between the guide plate and the cut-off wheel with a protractor or triangle ruler.Electric brakeThis tool is equipped with an electric wheel brake. If thetool consistently fails to quickly stop the cut-off wheelafter the switch trigger is released, have the tool ser-viced at a Makita service center.CAUTION: The wheel brake system is not asubstitute for the safety guard. Never use toolwithout a functioning safety guard. An unguardedcut-off wheel may result in serious personal injury.Electronic functionThe tools equipped with electronic function are easy tooperate because of the following feature(s).Soft start featureSoft start because of suppressed starting shock.ASSEMBLYWARNING: Always be sure that the tool isswitched off and the battery cartridge is removedbefore working on the tool. Insufficient tightening may result insevere injury.CAUTION: Always use only the proper innerand outer flanges which are provided with thetool.CAUTION: Always lower the safety guardafter replacing the cut-off wheel.CAUTION: Wear gloves when handlingwheels.Raise the safety guard. Turn the toolless clamp coun-terclockwise while holding down the shaft lock. Thenremove the toolless clamp, outer flange and cut-offwheel.
