4-15Winterization Re-Commission• Remove boat cover or shrink-wrap from boat.• Remove Duct tape from exhaust flaps.• Charge and install battery in boat. Follow all safety precautions associated withchanging batteries.• De-winterize engine using engine manufacturer’s specifications.• Check propeller shaft alignment. Tighten coupling hardware.• Check engine compartment for nesting animals. Clean as needed.• Reinstall seat cushions from storage.• Check entire engine for signs of cracks caused by freeze damage. Check all hoseclamps for tightness. Install bilge drain plugs: transom, T-handle plug and skilocker drain plug.• Reinstall propeller assembly.• If not performed during winterization, perform annual maintenance at this time.• If boat is equipped with optional fresh-water cooling, and was drained atwinterization, fill at this time.• Turn fuel shut-off valve to the On position. (Handle is in line or parallel with thefuel line.) Turn key on and off 2-3 times to allow fuel to return to engine, thenstart engine. When engine starts, watch gauges closely, and watch for abnormalreadings.TroubleshootingThe following charts will assist you in finding and correcting minor mechanical andelectrical problems with your boat. Problems are listed in the order of the most likelyevent to the least likely.To correct a problem, first determine what the problem is. Start with the first cause andeliminate the possibility of each until the problem is corrected.
