Section 2 Installation InstructionsPart Number 000002688 2-5Location of Ice MachineThe location selected for the ice machine must meet thefollowing criteria. If any of these criteria are not met,select another location.• The location must be free of airborne and othercontaminants.• The air temperature must be at least 45°F (7°C), butmust not exceed 110°F (43.4°C).• The water temperature must be at least 45°F (7°C),but must not exceed 90°F (32.2°C).• The location must not be near heat-generatingequipment or in direct sunlight.• The location must be capable of supporting theweight of the ice machine and a full bin of ice.• The location must allow enough clearance for water,drain and electrical connections in the rear of the icemachine.• The location must not obstruct airflow through oraround the ice machine. QF400 airflow is in and outof the front of the ice machine. Refer to below forclearance requirements.Ice Machine Head Section ClearanceRequirementsIce Machine Heat of RejectionIce machines, like other refrigeration equipment, rejectheat through the condenser. It is helpful to know theamount of heat rejected by the ice machine when sizingthe air conditioning equipment where self-contained air-cooled ice machines are installed. QF2300 ice machinesadd an insignificant amount of load to a conditionedspace.Location of Remote Condensing UnitThe location selected for the Remote Condensing Unitmust meet the following criteria. If any of these criteriaare not met, select another location.• The air temperature must be at least -20°F (-28.9°C)but must not exceed 120°F (49°C).• The location must not allow exhaust fan heat and/orgrease to enter the condenser.• The location must not obstruct airflow through oraround the condensing unit.
