© MuxLab Inc. HDMI 4x8 & 8x8 Matrix Switch, HDBT, PoE Installation Guide3.8. Remote Control of Sources and DisplaysSources and displays do not have to be controlled at their physical location. UsingMuxLab receivers, each source and display can be controlled at different locationsusing their respective remotes.Using source remotes, sources can be controlled at display locations via receivers (seeFigure 8). To do so, make sure that the IR emitter cable leading from the IR Emittersport 1 on the back of the Matrix Switch has its emitter end placed in front of IR sensoron source 1. The HDMI 4x8 Matrix Switch is equipped with 4 IR emitter ports, andthe HDMI 8x8 Matrix Switch is equipped with 8 IR emitter ports. Do the same for allports and all sources (see Table 3).Matrix Switch – IR Emitters Port IR Emitter Cable Sensor on Source1 Jack End --------------- Emitter End 12 Jack End --------------- Emitter End 23 Jack End --------------- Emitter End 34 Jack End --------------- Emitter End 45 Jack End --------------- Emitter End 56 Jack End --------------- Emitter End 67 Jack End --------------- Emitter End 78 Jack End --------------- Emitter End 8Table 3: Source Remote Control ConfigurationUsing display remotes, displays can be controlled at the Matrix Switch location viareceivers (see Figure 9). To do so, make sure that the remote of display 1 is directed atthe sensor end of the IR sensor cable leading from the IR Sensors port 1 on the back ofthe Matrix Switch.
