B a s i c s [ 2 5 ]AD D I T IO NA L I N F OR MAT IO NAdditional InformationChanging the Digital Security CodeThe digital security code is an identification code used to connect the handset and the base unit.Normally, setting the code is not necessary. In the rare situation that you suspect anothercordless telephone is using the same security code, you can change the code. To change thedigital security code:1 De-register the handset (see “Deregister the handset“ on page 13).2 Register the handset by following step 2-3 in “Registering the handset“ on page 9.Find HandsetTo locate the handset, press find handset on the base when the phone is in standby mode. Allregistered handsets beep for 60 seconds, and P a g i n g appears on the handset display. To cancelpaging, press any key on the handset or find handset on the base..Installing the BeltclipTo Attach the BeltclipInsert the beltclip into the holes on each side of the handset. Press downuntil it clicksTo Remove the BeltclipPull either side of the beltclip to release the tabs from the holes.Headset InstallationYour phone can be used with an optional headset. To use this feature,insert the headset plug into the headset jack. Your phone is ready forhands-free conversations. (Headset can be purchased by calling your localNEC Representative.)If the battery pack is completely drained, the handset will not beep when paging.note |
