Configure a WINS server on the host PC’s network, or,! Configure the host PC’s IP address on the MobilePro using thefollowing procedure:1. Tap Start, Settings, Control Panel, and double tap the networkicon.2. Highlight NE2000 Compatible Ethernet Driver and select theProperties button.3. In the IP address tab, select (place a dot beside) “Obtain an IPaddress via DHCP.”4. Select the Name Servers tab and enter the host PC’s IP address inthe “Primary WINS” field.To identify the host PC’s IP address, run an IP config utility. InWindows 95, 98, 2000, and XP, run Win IP Config. In WindowsNT, run IP Config. If you need assistance, see your networkadministrator.Installing ActiveSyncFollow these steps to install Microsoft ActiveSync for synchronizationwith Microsoft Outlook. The installation sequence may vary dependingupon the Microsoft components installed on your host PC.Note If your host PC uses the Windows NT operating system, youmust install Windows NT Networking before installing MicrosoftActiveSync on your host PC.1.
