CHAPTER 3 SYSTEM DATA PROGRAMMING– 96 – NWA-008855-001 Rev.1.0avch3001.fmCS DATA PROGRAMMINGEach CS is provided with Calling Area, Group and Group CS number, given a maximum capacity to have32 calling areas while each area has 8 groups. One group can house 32 group CSs.Calling Area : Calling Area consists of plural Radio Zones and the calling signal is sent to the CS thatbelongs to the same calling area. When a dedicated PS is called, the system is designedto search first for a PS in its registered area and if the PS has moved out of cell, the PSLocation is automatically registered in no time just when the dedicated PS has movedto another place.Group : Dividing into groups is not used for the moment; however, the data setting is requiredto assign CS-ID. (See the following figure.)CS can be categorized in terms of their function into Control CS and Operating CS, while the Control CSshave its system ID programmed. The system ID is allocated uniquely to the Control CS in an attempt tocontrol the whole PHS system. The system ID travels over the radio to all other CSs through the WCS.CS-ID ConfigurationCalling Area 1CSCSPSPSCSCalling Area 2CSCSPSPSCSPS Location RegistrationRadio ZoneWCSSYS-IDPre-assigned toControl CSCMAD Y=00data assignmentCS-IDCalling Area No. Group No. Group CS No.CS DATA PROGRAMMING
