The log-on box appearsfor entering a password.ShutdownFollow these steps to power off your system.To prevent damage to system components, wakea system in sleep mode, save and close any open applications, exitWindows, power down the system, and unplug the AC adapter power cordfrom the power source.1. If your system is in sleep mode, move the mouse or press a key totake it out of sleep mode (see “Power Saving Operation” in the nextsection).2. Save and exit all your open applications.3. Make sure that the hard drive, diskette drive, and any other drives arenot in use. A lit device lamp indicates that the device is in use.Wait until a program is finished running beforepowering off the system.Unless absolutely necessary, never power off the system when the systempower lamp is amber or when either the hard drive lamp, diskette drive, orother device lamp is flashing. Information on the device might be lost ordamaged.
