In this case the venting is to be adequatelysupported using either an alternate method suitable to the authorityhaving jurisdiction or the optional roof support.B. Stretch the inner ex pipe to the required length. Slip the innerex pipe a minimum of 2” over the inner pipe of the air terminalconnector and secure with 3 #8 screws. Seal using a heavybead of high temperature sealant W573-0007 (not supplied).C. Repeat using the outer ex pipe, using a heavy bead of hightemperature sealant W573-0002 (not supplied).D. Thread the air terminal connector / vent pipe assembly downthrough the roof. The air terminal must be positioned vertically andplumb. Attach the air terminal connector to the roof support, ensuringthat the top of the air terminal is 16” above the highest point that itpenetrates the roof.E. Remove nails from the shingles, above and to the sides of the airterminal connector. Place the ashing over the air terminal connectorleaving a min. 3/4” of the air terminal connector showing above thetop of the ashing. Slide the ashing underneath the sides and upperedge of the shingles. Ensure that the air terminal connector is properlycentred within the ashing, giving a 3/4” margin all around. Fasten tothe roof. Do not nail through the lower portion of the ashing. Makeweather-tight by sealing with caulking. Where possible, cover the sidesand top edges of the ashing with roong material.F. Aligning the seams of the terminal and air terminal connector, placethe terminal over the air terminal connector making sure the ventpipe goes into the hole in the terminal. Secure with the threescrews provided.G. Apply a heavy bead of weatherproof caulking 2” above the ashing.Install the storm collar around the air terminal and slide down to thecaulking. Tighten to ensure that a weather-tight seal between theair terminal and the collar is achieved.H.
