29W415-0773 / F / 08.26.13EN5.3 USING RIGID VENT COMPONENTSThe vent system must be supported approximately every 3 feet (0.9m) for both vertical and horizontal runs.Use Wolf Steel Ltd. support ring assembly or equivalent noncombustible strapping to maintain the minimumclearance to combustibles for both vertical and horizontal runs. All inner exhaust and outer intake vent pipe joints may be sealed using either red high temperature siliconesealant W573-0002 (not supplied) or black high temperature sealant W573-0007 Mill Pac (not supplied) withthe exception of the appliance exhaust flue collar which must be sealed using Mill Pac.25.1A5.3.1 HORIZONTAL AIR TERMINAL INSTALLATIONA. Move the appliance into position. Measure thevent length required between terminal andappliance taking into account the additionallength needed for the finished wall surfaceand any 1¼” (31.8mm) overlaps betweenventing components.B. Apply high temperature sealant W573-0007 (notsupplied) to the outer edge of the inner collar of theappliance. Attach the first inner rigid pipe componentand secure using 3 self tapping screws. Repeatusing the outer rigid pipe.C. Insert the vent pipes through the firestop maintaining the required clearance to combustibles. Holdingthe air terminal (lettering in an upright, readable position), secure to the exterior wall and makeweather tight by sealing with caulking (not supplied). The air terminal mounting plate may be recessed into the exterior wall or siding no greater than thedepth of the return flange. 26.1ASCREWS#10x2"OUTERRIGIDPIPECAULKINGINNERRIGIDPIPESCREWSSELF DRILLING#8x1/2"1" (25.4mm)OVERLAPSEALANTHI-TEMP! In this case, vent lengths must bekept to a maximum of 24” (609.6mm) . For longer vent lengths, a minimumvertical rise of 24” (609.6mm) is required.A. Follow the instructions for "HORIZONTAL AIR TERMINALINSTALLATION" section.B. Continue adding components alternating inner and outer vent pipes. Ensure thatall inner vent pipes and elbows have sufficient vent spacers attached and eachcomponent is securely fastened to the one prior. Attach the telescopic sleeve to thevent run. Secure and seal. To facilitate completion, attach inner and outer couplers tothe air terminal.C. Install the air terminal. See “HORIZONTAL AIR TERMINAL INSTALLATION” section. Extend the outertelescopic sleeve; connect to the air terminal assembly. Fasten with self tapping screws and seal.TELESCOPIC SLEEVEVENTINGAIR TERMINAL20" (508mm)COUPLER48.2A
