29W415-0773 / 06.16.094.3 USING RIGID VENT COMPONENTSThe vent system must be supported approximately every 3 feet for both vertical and horizontal runs. Use WolfSteel Ltd. support ring assembly or equivalent noncombustible strapping to maintain the minimum clearance tocombustibles for both vertical and horizontal runs. All inner exhaust and outer intake vent pipe joints may be sealed using either red high temperature siliconesealant W573-0002 (not supplied) or black high temperature sealant W573-0007 Mill Pac (not supplied) withthe exception of the appliance exhaust flue collar which must be sealed using Mill Pac.25.14.3.1 HORIZONTAL AIR TERMINAL INSTALLATIONA. Move the appliance into position. Measure the ventlength required between terminal and appliancetaking into account the additional lengthneeded for the finished wall surface and any1¼” overlaps between venting components.B. Apply high temperature sealant W573-0007(not supplied) to the outer edge of the inner collarof the appliance. Attach the first inner rigid pipecomponent and secure using 3 self tapping screws.Repeat using the outer rigid pipe.C. Insert the vent pipes through the firestop maintaining therequired clearance to combustibles. Holding the air terminal (lettering in an upright, readable position),secure to the exterior wall and make weather tight by sealing with caulking (not supplied). The air terminal mounting plate may be recessed into the exterior wall or siding no greater than thedepth of the return flange. 26.1SCREWS#10x2"OUTERRIGIDPIPECAULKINGINNERRIGIDPIPESCREWSSELF DRILLING#8x1/2"1"OVERLAPSEALANTHI-TEMP! In this case, vent lengths must be kept to amaximum of 24”. For longer vent lengths, a minimum vertical rise of 24”is required.A. Follow the instructions for "Horizontal Air Terminal Installation", items A to C.B. Continue adding components alternating inner and outer vent pipes. Ensure thatall inner vent pipes and elbows have sufficient vent spacers attached and eachcomponent is securely fastened to the one prior. Attach the telescopic sleeve to thevent run. Secure and seal. To facilitate completion, attach inner and outer couplers to theair terminal.C. Install the air terminal. See item 3 of the Horizontal Air Terminal Installation. Extend the outer telescopicsleeve; connect to the air terminal assembly. Fasten with self tapping screws and seal.TELESCOPIC SLEEVEVENTINGAIR TERMINAL20"COUPLER48.2
