You must have Card & Socket Services 2.0 (or a later version) on yourcomputer.2. Insert the DAQCard-1200 and attach the I/O cable.The DAQCard-1200 has two connectors—a 68-pin PCMCIA busconnector on one end and a 50-pin I/O connector on the other end. Insertthe PCMCIA bus connector into any available Type II PC Card slot untilthe connector is seated firmly. Notice that the card is keyed so that it can beinserted only one way. If your computer supports hot insertion, you mayinsert or remove the DAQCard-1200 at any time, whether your computer ispowered on or off.You can use either a 50-pin female or a 50-pin male cable to plug into theDAQCard-1200. For more information on these products, see the OptionalEquipment section in Chapter 1, Introduction. Notice that the cable iskeyed so that you can insert it only one way. Be careful not to put strainon the I/O cable when inserting it into and removing it from theDAQCard-1200. Always grasp the cable by the connector you are pluggingor unplugging. Never pull directly on the I/O cable to unplug it from theDAQCard-1200.The DAQCard-1200 is now installed. You are ready to make the appropriateconnections to the I/O connector cable as described in Chapter 3, SignalConnections, and to install and configure your software.
