Chapter 2 Installation and Configuration© National Instruments Corporation 2-5 DAQCard-1200 User ManualNRSE Input (Eight Channels)NRSE input means that all signals are referenced to the same commonmode voltage, which is allowed to float with respect to the analog groundof the DAQCard-1200. This common mode voltage is subsequentlysubtracted out by the instrumentation amplifier. NRSE configuration isuseful when measuring ground-referenced signal sources.Considerations in using the NRSE configuration are discussed inChapter 3, Signal Connections. Notice that in this mode, the return path ofthe signal is through the negative terminal of the amplifier, available at theconnector through the pin AISENSE/AIGND.DIFF Input (Four Channels)DIFF input means that each input signal has its own reference, and thedifference between each signal and its reference is measured. The signaland its reference are each assigned an input channel. With DIFF inputconfiguration, the DAQCard-1200 can monitor four different analog inputsignals.Considerations for using the DIFF configuration are discussed inChapter 3, Signal Connections. Notice that the signal return path is throughthe negative terminal of the instrumentation amplifier and throughchannel 1, 3, 5, or 7 depending on which channel pair you select.Analog Output ConfigurationYou can set the analog output on the DAQCard-1200 to either bipolar orunipolar configurations.Parameter ConfigurationAnalog Output CH0 Polarity Bipolar—±5 V (default setting)Unipolar—0–10 VAnalog Output CH1 Polarity Bipolar—±5 V (default setting)Unipolar—0–10 V
